The thirties' depression ruined Kahn and ended the project, but not before the photographers he commissioned had shot a wonderful range of images including some rare colour photographs from the First World War. This week our theme is Kahn's great archive. We start with this one from Moreuil, France, 30 July 1916.

London is brimming with summer shows inspired by the Royal Academy's famous annual exhibition.
Troika Editions is joining in the fun and producing its own individual and eccentric version with "The Floor to Ceiling Show" at its new gallery, "The Front Room". The exhibition will feature a potpourri of tiny contemporary photographic limited prints taken from its online collection.
So come and help us launch the first exhibition in our new gallery and join us at the Private View on Tuesday 10th August between 6.00 - 9.00pm.

An exhibition of the work of Camille Silvy has just opened at the National Portrait Gallery.
A pioneer of early photography and one of the greatest French photographers of the nineteenth century, this show includes many remarkable images which have not been exhibited since the 1860s.
