Homai Vyarawalla

The distinguished Indian photojournalist died earlier this year.

Born in 1913, she saw and photographed many of the key moments in 20th century Indian history. The recent obituaries remind us that photography has long been international.

Below is her image of the Dalai Lama entering India in 1956.
