Contacting 50 people, some friends and some complete strangers, Noemie asked them to tell her a personal story; a desire or dream, fantasy or obsession. After interviewing each of her subjects she then planned stage settings and photographed each person acting out their story to produce a visual interpretation of their secret.
The photograph of Tiffany is one of Noemie's favourite images from the series. The story that Tiffany told was of such importance to her that Noemie wanted to capture its fairytale quality.
It is a simple story and perhaps true for many people. Always concerned with the wishes of her family, friends and lovers Tiffany doesn't think she has had opportunities to do the things she would really like to, so she dreams of becoming the captain of her own boat and sailing away to start a new life.
Using a TV aerial as a mast and an old discarded cast iron bath as the hull, Noemie used what she found around her to recreate Tiffany's dream. So the furrows of the ploughed field became the waves on the sea and the tufts of dried grass became the crests of waves as Tiffany sails off into the great blue yonder.
