Tom's interest in photography lies in its recording qualities and in particular how it can visually document his performances. Clearly attracted to the absurd, Tom sources his background landscape with great care, but then leaves everything else to chance and possibility. Unable to know what the picture looks like as he takes it, he leaves room for the viewer to bring their own narrative to the photograph. How does he become suspended in space, did he jump or fall, is he on a wire?
In the last year Tom won the Open Exhibition at the Mission Gallery Swansea, 2008; was selected for the Royal West of England Academy of Arts, 2008; was part of the Photo50 London Art Fair exhibition, curated by Goldsmith College and exhibited his work at the Exposure Format Photography Festival, Derby in March 2009.
