Which photographer or artist do you most admire?

Hiroshi Sugimoto.

What artwork, where money is no object, would you like to hang on your wall?

Some huge painting by Helen Frankenthaler. It would take me a year to choose which one.

What is the best commission you have ever had?

Being asked to photograph David Attenborough by the National Portrait Gallery. Portraying someone can be a great way of showing your respect for them.

When are you at your happiest?

Skiing and diving.

What is your most treasured possession?

An empty tobacco tin that belonged to my Grandfather.

What book are you reading at the moment?

"Image Makers, Image Takers" by Anne-Celine Jaeger.

What made you laugh recently?

A chat with my sister Clairey.

What really winds you up?

Transport in London, and British Telecom.

What would your dream project be?

Driving from Alaska to the Southern tip of Chile.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Travel, other photographer's work, and paintings.

What music would you like played at your funeral?

The Aria from Bach's Goldberg variations as played by Glen Gould in 1981, followed by Fiesta as played by The Pogues in 1988.
