Nicolas Ferrando was born in Buenos Aires in 1978. He started working in the cinema industry when he was 15 and since then has been freelancing as a cameraman, Director of Photography, illustrator and a writer of more than 250 TV commercials, documentaries, movies and comics.

He studied at the University of Cinema in Buenos Aires where he won the Best Photography award for his work "Jakuza" at the FUC 2002 Short Film Festival. He moved to London to pursue his studies in photography attending The Slade School of Art to do his MA.

Nicolas has exhibited his series "The Paper Bag" internationally including at the Nancy Victor Gallery, London, 2004; The University of Greenwich, London 2006. The series was awarded Third Prize in the International Photography Awards in 2004.

Nicolas is currently living between Buenos Aires, Madrid and the UK and is still wondering why he never could have the orange cat he always wanted...
