Edward Swinden is an award-winning former journalist, writer and multimedia artist. His work, which examines issues of society, conformity, and regeneration, has featured in publications including The British Journal of Photography, Ag, Aesthetica, and Digital Photographer.

He has completed a number of commissioned and self-published book projects including "Living Next Door" and "Lost & Stolen".

Solo exhibitions include "Beekeeper: to serve the Queen" at the National Agricultural Centre, 2010 and "Life of Pride" at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester 2010;

Ed's work have also been exhibited at Manchester's Northern Quarter Gallery; Sketch 360 Studios; Salford's Chapman Gallery; the BBC; Chorlton Arts Festival, Heaton Park; London's Clarion Gallery and 5A The Gallery, St. Helens.

The series "Street B" won the Shoot the Street! competition, run by BJP and the Format International Photography Festival. Selected from over 100 international entries, Ed's work was picked out by a four strong judging panel: Diane Smyth, deputy editor of the BJP; Louise Clements, director of FORMAT 2011; Mike Seaborne, senior curator of photographs at the Museum of London and Sophie Howarth, co-author of Street Photography Now, published by Thames and Hudson.

He is currently based in Manchester, England.
